Gateway Setup

The Twinise hub gateway is a lightweight service that runs on commodity edge hardware. It aggregates and buffers telemetry from the sensor nodes around it on your local network.

The gateway is optional. Nodes publish over Wi-Fi straight to Twinise Cloud, and that is the supported path today — the gateway is for larger sites and for deployments that want aggregation and a local buffer. Cloud uplink from the gateway itself is in development, so a gateway does not currently replace direct device-to-cloud publishing.

Setup

• Install the hub gateway service on your edge host.
• Confirm the host has network reach to the local devices it will serve.
• Power on the sensor nodes it will aggregate.

Configuration

1. Provision the gateway from the Twinise mobile app. It receives its access token over the local setup call and stores it on the host.
2. Confirm the gateway is receiving telemetry from the devices it serves.

Acceptance

• The gateway is reachable on your local network.
• The gateway is receiving device telemetry.
• Telemetry is buffering on the gateway.
